Longest Day KAL and Fundraiser

Once again, Ann Budd taking part in the Alzheimer’s Association’s (alz.org) The Longest Day event. This annual event takes place on the summer solstice–the day with the most light. On this day volunteers spend the daylight hours doing something they love while raising awareness and hopefully a lot of funds for to help find a cure for this dreadful disease.

Fo Ann's part, she plans to knit from dawn to dusk on Sunday, June 23. Although it’s not quite the summer solstice, it’s close enough for us!

In anticipation of the event, Ann designed the Fading Memories Cowl 2024 (shown here). On June 23, she'll knit another version of the cowl while partaking in five online knit-a-longs sponsored by some of her favorite yarn shops, including Kid Ewe Knot! We'd love for you to purchase the Fading Memories Cowl 2024 and knit along with us. Ann will donate $5 to Alzheimer’s research for every pattern purchased!

Any fingering weight yarn will make the cowl. If you choose to use the Me&Ewe Vibrant Marrrl that we dyed for the event, 5 additional dollars will be donated to Team Ann Budd

For those of you who prefer a single hook to two needles, we're thrilled to announce that Dianna Judge has designed a crochet version of the cowl!
Dianna’s Fading Memories Crochet Cowl 2024 features a similar lacy leaf pattern with the same tapered shape. A $5 donation will be made for purchased patterns through the end of August 2024.

Zoom knit and crochet along with us, all of the zoom links are on the donation page. You can find our June 23, 5 o'clock link in our calendar.
